The i-V2 is Legacy's two-channel amplifier, providing clean ICEedge Class D power for stereo systems or as a building block in larger installations. At 610 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 660 watts at 4 ohms (1.4 kW peak), it has authority for any Legacy loudspeaker. The standard iV series shares ICEedge technology with the ULTRA series at a slightly lower damping factor of 750.

The Legacy Audio i·V2 at $4,000 is the entry point to Legacy's amplifier lineup, and it's anything but entry-level. With 610 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 660 watts at 4 ohms, the i·V2 delivers more power per channel than many amplifiers costing twice as much. The ICEedge Class D platform provides this power in a chassis that weighs 28 pounds and runs cool enough for enclosed cabinet installation.
The i·V2 is the stereo amplifier for two-channel music systems. Connected to a quality preamp or DAC with volume control, it drives any speaker in Legacy's passive lineup (Signature SE, Focus SE, Classic HD) with authority and control. At 750 damping factor, it maintains tight grip on woofer drivers, producing bass that's defined, fast, and rhythmically precise.
The i·V2 is the two-channel member of Legacy's standard amplifier series, which scales from two channels up to eight in a consistent chassis format. Every amplifier in the standard series shares the same ICEedge Class D modules, the same 750 damping factor, the same 127 dB dynamic range, and the same 38 amps of peak current per channel. The only difference between models is the number of channels.
This scalable architecture means Legacy clients can build their systems progressively. Start with an i·V2 for a stereo system. Add an i·V3 or i·V5 when you expand to surround sound. The amplifiers share the same sonic signature, so adding channels never introduces tonal mismatches. The i·V series includes: i·V2 (2-ch, $4,000), i·V3 (3-ch, $5,000), i·V4 (4-ch, $6,000), i·V5 (5-ch, $7,000), i·V6 (6-ch, $8,000), i·V7 (7-ch, $9,000), and i·V8 (8-ch, $10,000).
For listeners who want the absolute highest performance, the ULTRA series adds 800 damping factor (vs. 750), higher peak current delivery, and premium internal components. The standard i·V series delivers 95% of the ULTRA's measured performance at a lower price point; the differences are audible primarily in the most demanding listening conditions with the most revealing speakers.
The i·V2's ICEedge Class D architecture offers practical advantages that extend beyond sonic performance. It draws minimal power at idle, reducing electricity costs for systems that remain powered on continuously. It generates negligible heat, eliminating the need for ventilation fans or open-rack mounting that Class A/B amplifiers require. And at 28 pounds, it can be placed on a shelf, in a cabinet, or mounted in a standard equipment rack without structural concerns.
Both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs accommodate any source component. The 38kΩ input impedance is high enough to present a negligible load to any preamplifier, and the gold-plated 5-way binding posts accept banana plugs, spade lugs, or bare wire connections.
The i·V2 ships with a 2-4 week lead time, the shortest in Legacy's product line, since amplifiers don't require the custom cabinet work and finish application that speakers demand.
