The i-V3 ULTRA provides three channels of ICEedge amplification at 610 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 1,000 watts at 4 ohms. Ideal for powering a center channel alongside a stereo pair, or for driving three channels in a larger surround system. The ULTRA series delivers 800 damping factor and 127 dB dynamic range across every channel.

The Legacy Audio i·V3 ULTRA at $7,500 places three channels of ULTRA-grade amplification in a single chassis: 610 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 1,000 watts at 4 ohms, with the 800 damping factor and 127 dB dynamic range that define the ULTRA series. It's the natural amplifier choice for driving a three-channel front stage in a home theater where every channel deserves the same flagship-grade power.
The three-channel configuration is purpose-built for home theater front stages: left, center, and right channels powered from a single unit. This eliminates the channel-to-channel sonic variations that can occur when multiple separate amplifiers are used, and it simplifies the equipment rack with one chassis instead of three.
The i·V3 ULTRA uses the same ICEedge Class D modules as the i·V1 ULTRA monoblock and i·V2 ULTRA stereo amplifier. Each channel delivers 38 amps of peak current with 800 damping factor, providing the iron-fisted driver control that Legacy's larger speakers demand. Whether driving Focus XD towers, Aeris XDs, or a Marquis center channel, every channel has the headroom and authority to handle the most demanding dynamic peaks without compression.
Channel separation at 120 dB ensures that the three channels operate with complete independence. A gunshot in the center channel doesn't bleed into the left and right. A sweeping orchestral crescendo maintains its spatial integrity. The separation is measured at 1kHz, the frequency range where human hearing is most sensitive to crosstalk.
Like all ULTRA amplifiers, the i·V3 runs cool thanks to Class D efficiency. The standard chassis (17.5 inches wide, 15.6 inches deep, 5.8 inches tall) fits any standard equipment rack and can be placed in enclosed cabinets without the ventilation demands of Class A/B amplifiers.
The most common i·V3 ULTRA configuration drives the front three channels of a Legacy home theater system: left tower, center channel, and right tower. For systems using Legacy's powered speakers (Aeris XD, Focus XD, Signature XD), the i·V3 ULTRA drives only the passive midrange and tweeter sections, since the speakers' internal amplifiers handle their own bass.
For systems using Legacy's passive speakers (Focus SE, Classic HD, Signature SE), the i·V3 ULTRA provides full-range amplification with the power and current delivery to control the speakers' woofer sections at all listening levels. The 800 damping factor is particularly important with passive speakers, where woofer control depends entirely on the external amplifier.
Dave can advise on the optimal amplifier configuration for your specific system. In some installations, the i·V3 ULTRA is paired with i·V4 or i·V4 ULTRA amplifiers for the surround channels, creating a complete home theater amplification system that shares the same sonic signature across all channels.
